We call our newest tote bag a G.I. Joe bag and it is intended to benefit the Wounded Warriors Project. The Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to honor and empower wounded warriors. WWP seeks to assist those men and women of our armed forces who have been severely injured during the conflicts in Iraq, Afghanistan, and other locations around the world. I have had the privilege of spending some time with these Warriors as part of my other life as a tour guide in the San Juan mountains of south western Colorado. On one occasion, I often brag that I met the Hurt Locker guy who even after having a limb removed by a IED still wanted nothing more then to return to dismantling explosives. They are all great guys but they all need our support, as the slogan of the Wounded Warriors is “The greatest casualty is being forgotten”. On one of my adventures with these folks they actually honored me by “Coining ” me which is their way of saying thanks with one of their originally minted Coins. I accepted it with great gratitude.
How the G.I.Joe Bag will benefit the Wounded Warrior Project.
We have designed the G.I. Joe Bag with a definite military theme as we have used Recycled MRE Bags, which are super tough; just ask any veteran how hard it is to open a MRE bag when you are hungry. The rest of the exterior is from a rugged Oil Cloth from the Colorado Yurt Company ant the interior is a Forest Green Camouflage. These bags are made as tough as the Warriors they are intended to honor, and to top it all off $20 will be donated to the Wounded Warriors Project upon sale of this tote.
